Direct Access means that you do not have to appoint a solicitor to use the services of a planning barrister. As chartered town planners we are authorised to instruct counsel direct in matters relating to planning strategy, technical and legal issues, planning and enforcement appeals and related matters.
We are able to organise written legal opinions and consultations in person via the clerks who run the various planning chambers in London and the regional cities.
Where a case is to be heard at the High Court or other higher courts you must employ a solicitor to instruct counsel as we are not able to do so in those cases (although we do provide expert witness support in such cases).
